Locate a position for your HFX4 System. Make sure that it is level, lower than the refill bottle position and as close to the air intake as possible. Your HFX4 System does not require a mounting bracket in most cases. Select an area in, or that is accessible to, the engine compartment that is confined, allows little movement and holds the HFX4 System level. Should support be needed use a large wire tie or Velcro to secure the unit.
Locate the fuse box and select a fuse that is not essential (ie. sunroof, heated seats, accessory) that is key operated. Remove the fuse, insert the bared end of the red wire into one side of the fuse slot and reinsert the fuse. Alternately locate a wire that is key operated (use of a test light is needed) and use a wire connector. If, your HFX4 Hybrid System did not come with an inline fuse, purchase one at an electronics or automotive store for use in this type of installation, a 2 to 5 AMP fuse is also required.
Locate a convenient ground connection (body metal, bolt, etc.) and attach the bared end of the black wire. Always shorten electrical wires to only the length needed, excess wire causes increased drag on your electrical system.
The ceramic resistor on the negative wire gets very hot, position it so it does not come in contact with any plastic or rubber parts. Never grasp the resistor when in use.
Fill the AutoFill bottle 1/2 full with table salt, replace the cap and and, for the gasoline unit place spout in the oxygen vent hole to fill the HFX4 chamber with salt, for the diesel unit use a 2" section of hoseto connect the AutoFill bottle's nozzle to the hydrogen outlet nozzle allowing the salt to fill the HFX4 chamber. Attach 1/4" Hydrogen outlet hose to the barbed fitting (the one in the center of the unit) on top of your HFX4 System (using just enough to reach into the air intake about 6"), should air intake be inaccessible drill a 1/4" hole in the air intake nozzle to accept the hydrogen hose. Attach wires, AutoFill water hose (1/4" hose to the barbed fitting located on the top of your HFX4 System in the corner of the top) and position your HFX4 System. Cut hose to length always keeping it in downward slope to the HFX4 System.
Add ORDINARY TAP* water to the AutoFill refill bottle (diluting any remaining salt) and attach the 1/4" hose with the hose shut off clasp in place close to the refill bottle lid. Attach the other end of the 1/4" hose to the barbed fitting located on the top of your HFX4 System closest to the wire connections and vent hole.
Your HFX4 System can then be filled by squeezing the refill bottle and releasing and repeating until water appears at the vent hole (gas model only) or comes back up the Autofill hose. Refill your AutoFill bottle and position it in the space you selected, making sure the cap is securely tightened, it is supported and protected from falling through the engine compartment and that the hose clasp is released.
Start your vehicle. Your HFX4 Hybrid System is now reducing CO2 emissions and improving your MPG.
*in cold climates, during winter months, use premixed winter formula windshield washer fluid in place of tap water to prevent freezing.
